Miracle One

Friday, July 10th, 2009

If you would indulge me a little on this post….there is a new wine I want you to know about. It comes from California and not Tennessee, hence it’s not exactly a local wine.

But, Miracle One is created by two college friends from Sewanee; one who grew up in Nashville and the other in Atlanta. And, after buying it from Grand Cru this afternoon, I am going to declare that local enough.

I tend to gravitate towards Oregon pinots, but Miracle One was right up my ally. The fruit flavors were not overpowering and it felt smooth and silky. The guys at Miracle One describe it better then me, noting the “earthy hint” that is reminiscent of “early morning fog” from the Carneros region in California.

Ryan and Lane, the energy behind Miracle one, are both avid travelers, adventures, and wine drinkers. They came together to not just make great wine, but do it in the most environmentally sustainable way possible. Their wine production facilities are certified organic, they are using sustainable corks, and the packaging that is 100% bio-degradable.

Check out their website, Miracleonewines.com for more information about their wines and commitment. Both Miracle One’s pinot noir and chardonnay are available in local wine stores as of this week.

Cheers!
