“School Lunch” Dinner

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010
Have you been watching Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution on ABC? I have and I am hooked. The show follows famed British chef Jamie Oliver as he tries to change the school lunch program in Huntington, West Virginia. It is eye opening and scary what is going into the mouths of children across this country.

The television program is giving me one more reason to support an organization that is doing so much to change our food environment in Nashville, Manna-Food Security Partners. And their next event will be a great and FUN way to get involved.

Tayst is holding it’s 2nd Annual “School Lunch” Dinner. The dinner takes place on Monday, April 19th @ 6:30 pm

The creative menu will feature the favorite lunch dishes of the students at Glendale Spanish Immersion Elementary. Joining chef Barlow in the kitchen will be Laura Wilson of Holland House, Will Uhlhorn of F.Scott’s, Danny Maggipinto of Caffé Nonna and Guerry McComas of The Yellow Porch. Each chef has been given as assignment to transform a favorite school food into something fresh and unexpected.

The cost of the five-course dinner is $70 with $50 benefiting Mana-Food Security Partner’s Growing Healthy Kids initiative.
